The OrigAMI-5 Study
A study for people with head and neck cancer that has come back (recurred) or spread to other parts of the body (metastasized)
In order to qualify for the study, you’ll go through a screening process which may include blood tests, a CT or MRI of your tumor, and a physical exam.
You or your loved one CAN join the study if:
- You are over 18 years of age
- You have not had any treatment for your cancer since it has come back or spread
You or your loved one CANNOT join the study if:
- Your cancer started in the nasopharynx (the upper part of the throat behind the nose)
- Your cancer is HPV positive
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have an uncontrolled illness
- You have a diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, persistent hypertension, congestive heart failure or any other uncontrolled medical condition
The study includes the following parts:
Screening:
Before you can join a study, the study doctor and clinical staff will determine if you meet the specific requirements to participate. You will review and sign a document called an Informed Consent Form (ICF) that reviews the study details, as well as the potential risks and benefits of the study. You will also be able to ask any questions you have.
Treatment:
If you qualify, you’ll receive approved medicines for head and neck cancer. Some participants will also receive the study medication. During this period, you will participate in regular visits and tests to see how you’re doing and how the study therapies are working.
Follow-up:
Follow-up visits are done regularly and may be at the office or on the phone. Follow-up visits help us collect useful information about the study medication.
Clinical research studies may help find better ways to treat different conditions.
